Alexandra Weigel has joined Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, as head of multinational, Europe, a Zurich-based role.
In her new role, Weigel will leverage her over 30 years of industry experience to support the expansion of LSM’s multinational programme capabilities in Europe.
The executive’s appointment comes as LSM strengthens its commitment to the European market , where it currently operates in seven countries and provides products across more than 20 lines of business.
Weigel’s role will be integral to the company’s “Invest in Europe 2023” strategy, LSM stated, which aims to enhance its multinational programme (MNP) offering.
Moreover, the strategy aims to drive digitisation and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance underwriting quality and claims service, as well as expand LSM’s geographic footprint and launch a range of specialised products.
As head of multinational, Weigel will also collaborate closely with LSM’s distribution, underwriting, operations, and claims teams to drive the execution of the multinational strategy and support the company’s ambitious growth plans.

An industry veteran, Weigel is joining LSM from Zurich Insurance, where she spent 19 years, most recently serving as international business underwriting manager for commercial insurance.
