Amynta Risk Solutions, an insurance services company with more than $3.5 billion in managed premium, has appointed Michael Coghlan to lead its Accident and Health (A&H) Reinsurance business.
Coghlan is an insurance and reinsurance industry veteran with over two decades of experience. He has deep expertise in health re/insurance, risk management, insurance, traditional self-funded and small group level funding, employee benefits design, and actuarial science.
He also has extensive experience in program management and the development of reinsurance products, along with technical underwriting experience used in the evaluation and pricing of reinsurance covers and underlying reinsured product details.
Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Underwriting at HM Insurance Group. Prior to this, at QBE Re, he served in the roles of Senior Vice President and Head of US Health for Reinsurance and as the Vice President and Underwriting Leader for Reinsurance.
His career also includes serving as Senior Vice President at the reinsurance broking arm of Marsh McLennan, Guy Carpenter, and as a Vice President and Managing Underwriter in reinsurer PartnerRe’s Health Division.

Coghlan started his career as a Vice President at industry giant, Munich Re, in 2003, a role he held for a decade.
